Maureen had two heart valves replaced on Sunday in Orange County. Surgery went smoothly and the recovery is going well. She remains in SICU, but on Tuesday she had walked 100 feet and was feeding herself sitting upright in bed. The external pace maker continues to keep her heart rate up so as to provide sufficient blood flow to her kidneys and a couple of the drainage tubes are still in place removing fluid. As the heart settles down, having been messed with, it should keep her pressure at the correct level and fluid will be properly removed so the pacemaker can be removed and the drainage tube come out. She is doing remarkably well and will remain on antibiotics to ensure any residual infection is minimized. Scott and Maureen thank you for your prayers!
