Faith, daughter of Craig, Associate Pastor at Bethel Christian, will be having a major, serious and complicated surgery on 24 November 2009. Please pray for God’s guidance and inspiration to the surgical team. Pray also for peace of mind and concentration on faith in God for Faith and her family. Pray for a successful outcome of the surgery and associated treatment.
Vicky developed a brain aneurysm, which ruptured the morning of 28 October 2009. She made it through seven hours of surgery and the drug induced coma in a Denver hospital. In the words of her son…
Well, it is becoming apparent Vicky is fully in the throes of the vasospasms. While she remains stable, her ICPs are hovering between 15 and 20. A situation that is complicated by a rather persistent fever, she is fairly steady at about 101 degrees; which is no doubt a consequence of the pneumonia. While both lungs are affected, the Doctors are encouraged by the amount of fluid they are able to pull out on a daily basis, they are taking it as a sign that the infection is breaking up, and not just sitting in the base of her lungs. The results of her 24 hour EEG came back, and the results were positive. At this time it does not appear that she is experiencing seizures, her occasional shivering seems to be a by-product of the fever. Her scan this morning showed that the ventricles in her brain are open and the blood is flowing throughout.
The vasospasms started one week ago today; they can last up to 3 weeks, so it looks like we could be on this bumpy part of the road for a little bit longer. While it remains true that we do not know what to expect from day to day, that is not true of the staff at the hospital. They have assured us that none of what mom is going through is out of the ordinary; she is on the right path. Everybody continues to be amazed at how strong she is and how hard she is fighting. It is clear that she has a lot to fight for, not the least of which are all of her loving friends and family. Thank you for your continued support and words of encouragement, I read them to Vicky, and I can’t wait until she can read them herself - Love, Ian
Please pray for her recovery and for peace of mind for her family, that they might keep their trust in the Lord.
